Problems of the tourism industry development in Lviv region

ANNOTATION
The article reveals the current state of the tourism industry of Lviv region, which is a priority task of social and economic development of the region. The state of the tourism industry, the increase in tourism flows, the development of tourism infrastructure of the region, expansion of the range of tourism services, and the growth of the quality of tourism services are analyzed. The place of Lviv region in the tourism industry of Ukraine according to the number of tourists who have been served by tourist companies, the number of people who have been accommodated in hotels, the number of subjects of the tourism industry as well as the number of citizens who have traveled abroad and visited Ukraine is determined. The prospects of realization of tourist potential as one of the priority directions of the development of Lviv region are revealed. The problems of the use of tourist potential and the development of the tourism industry of Lviv region due to unsatisfactory state of tourist objects and roads, low level of transport services, lack of information provision of the tourism industry, insufficiency of economic incentives for tourism development, attraction of investments in the tourism industry are detected. SWOT-analysis of the tourism industry developmentin Lviv region is carried out and the strengths and weaknesses of that industry are identified, as well as favorable opportunities and threats, and significant prospects for the development of tourism in the region are characterized. The directions of increasing the efficiency of the tourist potential use, the development of the tourism industry of Lviv region, which envisage the programming and financing of tourism development, economic stimulation of tourism progress, the realization of mechanisms of public and private partnership and concession agreements in the field of infrastructure or tourism projects, the formation of attractive investment climate for the implementation of projects in the tourism industry. It is established that there is a great need for a systematic approach to the development of the tourism industry of the region, the development, and implementation of a set of measures that will ensure the sustainable development of the region, taking into account the considerable tourist potential of Lviv region.
