ANNOTATION

The article analyzes peculiarities of the development of agricultural insurance in Ukraine during the period of martial law. Current issues of insuring the property of agricultural producers during the war are studied. The situation in the agricultural sector during the war is analyzed and the need for insurance protection as a method and source of liquidation of the negative consequences of unexpected events is substantiated. It is noted that agricultural producers are exposed to the risk of natural disasters and emergencies, and today, in addition, they face a large number of events that until recently have been excluded from insurance and considered as not insured events, but now must become the main insurance risk that should be insured against agricultural machinery, products and animals, life and health of people. Therefore, agricultural insurance is recognized as a useful tool that farmers should use to mitigate and manage agricultural risks. It is noted that insurance activity in the agricultural sector aims to ensure a system of economic relations in order to improve agricultural production and its development. The work determined problems related with the lack of legal support for agricultural insurance. The insufficient development of insurance instruments in Ukraine compared to foreign countries, and the poor level of insurance culture are noted in the study.
