The article explores the foundations behind the creation of integrated associative formations in the agrarian sector of Ukraine. These formations bring together the interests of different businesses to increase their competitiveness by balancing state regulation and self-regulation processes.

This includes organizations such as industry associations, agro-food market participants, and clusters. The focus is on stakeholders' interests and how institutional and organizational factors can encourage the development of entrepreneurial self-government in the agrarian industry.

The article also examines the role and organizational peculiarity of self-regulation at all levels of the Ukrainian national sectoral economic system. It analyzes the institutional and organizational prerequisites for the introduction of self-regulation mechanisms in the agrarian sector.

The European experience of business associations in the agrarian sphere is also explored, demonstrating the evolution of self-regulation functions as a result of entrepreneurial initiative and cooperation among commodity producers. The successful practices of organizations, their associations, and inter-branch organizations were legalized in the national and sectoral regulatory field. This was done by demonstrating their effectiveness and harmonizing, regulating, and distributing them to other sectors of the common agrarian market during the reform of the common agrarian policy.

The article also focuses on the regulatory and legal support required for the implementation of self-regulatory functions by integrated associative formations. The principles of self-regulation were formed through the activity of these formations, particularly in the institutional context.
